How does experience with collective decisions shape whether people participate again? Using longitudinal voting records from decentralized autonomous organizations, we examine the relationship between members’ preference-outcome histories and later voting. The study addresses a central challenge of decentralized organizing: sustaining participation when members disagree about the outcome.

Who gets heard when a group is deciding what to do next? We use an agent-based model to examine how anticipated evaluation shapes present authority and collective search.

How can organizations coordinate on problems that extend beyond their own boundaries? We develop a theory of autonomous agents and code-based authority in collective problem solving. The project examines how these forms of organizing could reshape coordination and decision rights in responses to societal challenges.
